About the role
Trade finance is one of the reasons Rhodane exists. The firm sits on the corridor between Geneva's trading houses and France's industrial base, and both depend on financing that moves with the goods. As principal you will lead the practice: define its offer, hold senior client relationships and guide a team of specialists. You will also connect trade finance work with our sanctions, customs and treasury practices, where most real client problems sit.
What you will do
- Set the practice strategy and service offer for trade and supply-chain finance.
- Lead complex engagements on commodity finance, receivables programmes and trade operations.
- Build relationships with trading houses, industrial groups and their banks.
- Review all senior deliverables and act as the quality reference for the team.
- Recruit, coach and develop trade finance specialists.
What you bring
- 15+ years in trade, commodity or supply-chain finance, with senior leadership experience.
- Deep knowledge of documentary trade rules, structured commodity finance and receivables finance.
- Understanding of sanctions, export control and AML risk in trade flows.
- Credibility with senior executives in trading and banking.
- English and French at C1 level.
Good to have
- Experience on both the bank side and the corporate side.
- Knowledge of trade digitisation, including MLETR and electronic bills of lading.
- Familiarity with the Geneva commodity trading community.
