About Rhodane Advisory

Lake Geneva at first light

Rhodane Advisory is an independent firm with offices in Geneva and Lyon. We advise companies, trading houses and investors on corporate finance, treasury and trade finance, and on the supply chains, customs procedures and compliance controls that sit behind them.

We are deliberately narrow in geography. Most of our work concerns goods and money moving between Switzerland, France and the wider EU, and the regulation that applies on each side: FINMA and the Swiss Anti-Money Laundering Act in Geneva, the Union Customs Code, CSRD, SFDR and the EU taxonomy in the Union, and the Swiss–EU agreements in between.

We work in English and French, write in plain language and keep client matters confidential. Engagements are led by senior advisers who stay on the work from the first meeting to the handover.

How we work

Discretion
Client names, transactions and documents stay within the engagement team. We do not publish case studies about identifiable clients.
Precision
We cite the rule, the article or the contract clause. Where the answer depends on facts we do not have, we say so.
Independence
We take no commissions from banks, insurers, brokers or logistics providers. Our recommendations carry no referral fees.
Usable work
A report is finished when the client's own team can act on it. We write procedures and models for the people who will run them.

Finance and logistics read from the same ledger

In most companies the treasurer and the head of logistics report to different people and look at different systems. Yet inventory is working capital, a delayed customs clearance is a delayed receivable, and a sanctions hit on a vessel stops a letter of credit. We think the two disciplines belong in one conversation, and we staff our work that way.

Over the next few years the rules governing trade between Switzerland and the EU will change on both sides: a new Swiss–EU package of agreements is before the Swiss Parliament, EU customs is being reorganised around a central data hub, and CBAM and AMLA bring new reporting and supervision. We intend to be the firm that companies in this corridor call when those changes reach their contracts, their warehouses and their balance sheets.

Offices

Geneva

Switzerland

Corporate finance, treasury, trade finance, and risk and compliance.

Geneva is one of the world's principal centres for commodity trading, with the banks, inspection firms and shipping houses that serve it. Our office works close to that market and to the private banks and family offices of the lake shore.

Lyon

France

Supply-chain and logistics strategy, customs and cross-border trade, and sustainable finance data.

Lyon sits where the Saône joins the Rhône, on the road and rail routes between northern Europe and the Mediterranean, and its region has the second-largest logistics property stock in France. Our team spends much of its time in warehouses, at the river port and with the carriers and brokers who move goods through it.
