Sustainable Finance Research Analyst (SFDR & EU Taxonomy)
Research and assess the sustainability characteristics of companies and portfolios under SFDR and the EU taxonomy. You will turn regulation and company data into methods that asset managers and corporates can apply.
About the role
Asset managers in France and Switzerland must explain how their products meet SFDR disclosure requirements, and many corporates now report taxonomy alignment. The rules are detailed and still changing. Our sustainable finance team helps clients apply them to real portfolios and real capital expenditure plans. As research analyst you will build the methods, data and documentation behind that work. You will work with our corporate finance team on green financing and with our finance data engineers on shared datasets.
What you will do
- Assess economic activities against EU taxonomy technical screening criteria and DNSH requirements.
- Build principal adverse impact (PAI) calculations and data coverage reports for Article 8 and Article 9 funds.
- Review pre-contractual and periodic disclosures (RTS annexes) for consistency.
- Analyse ESG data from providers such as MSCI, Sustainalytics or ISS and document gaps.
- Track regulatory change, including the SFDR review and sustainability guidance from the AMF and FINMA.
What you bring
- 2 to 5 years in ESG research, sustainable finance or asset management.
- Detailed knowledge of SFDR, the Taxonomy Regulation and its delegated acts.
- Strong quantitative skills in Excel and Python or R.
- Ability to write clear methodology notes.
- English at C1 level; French at B2 level.
Good to have
- CFA Certificate in ESG Investing or similar.
- Knowledge of the French SRI label or Swiss Climate Scores.
- Experience with CSRD and ESRS data.
