About the role

Lyon sits where the A6, A7 and A43 motorways meet the Rhône and the rail routes towards Italy and Switzerland, which makes it a natural base for logistics planning. Our network design work answers structural questions: how many distribution centres, in which locations, served by which modes and under which customs regimes. As manager you will lead studies from start to finish and supervise a small team of consultants. You will also help shape the methods and tools the practice uses.

What you will do

  • Scope and lead network design studies from data collection to final recommendation.
  • Build optimisation models in Coupa Supply Chain Design, AIMMS or Python with OR-Tools.
  • Model multimodal options including road, rail, inland waterway and short-sea shipping.
  • Combine customs, tax and lease considerations (IFRS 16) with transport and warehousing costs.
  • Manage two to four consultants and review every client deliverable.

What you bring

  • 8+ years in logistics, supply-chain consulting or network planning.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one network optimisation tool.
  • A record of leading studies through to implementation decisions.
  • Practical understanding of warehouse operations and transport tendering.
  • French and English at C1 level.

Good to have

  • Knowledge of rail freight and combined transport through the Alpine corridors.
  • Experience with transport emissions accounting under ISO 14083 or the GLEC Framework.
  • People management experience in a consulting firm.
